Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by us) or "third-party" (set by a different domain, e.g. an analytics provider).
2. How We Use Cookies
OnSeason uses cookies and similar technologies (e.g. local storage) on onseason.ai to:
- Ensure the site works correctly — e.g. keeping you logged in, remembering preferences, and supporting security.
- Understand how the site is used — we use analytics to see which pages are visited and how users interact with the site, so we can improve the experience.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
- Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g. authentication, load balancing). These cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.
- Analytics cookies: We use PostHog (EU-hosted) and Vercel Analytics to collect anonymised usage data (e.g. page views, referrers) so we can improve the site. Analytics load only after you accept them in the cookie banner, and are blocked entirely if your browser sends Do Not Track.
We do not use advertising or third-party marketing cookies on our main marketing site. If we introduce new cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
4. Cookies and Storage We Set
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| onseason.cookieConsent.v2 | OnSeason (first-party) | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again on every visit. | Essential · localStorage | Persistent until you clear it or the policy version changes |
| onseason.eventBuffer.v1 | OnSeason (first-party) | Temporarily holds anonymous page-view events on your device before you make a cookie choice. Sent to analytics only if you accept; discarded if you decline. | Essential · sessionStorage | Cleared when you close the browser tab or make a cookie choice |
| ph_* / distinct_id | PostHog (EU · eu.i.posthog.com) | Anonymous product analytics: pages visited and interactions. IP addresses are not stored, session recordings are disabled. | Analytics · cookie / localStorage | Up to 12 months |
| Vercel Analytics | Vercel Inc. (US) | Aggregated page-view counts. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. | Analytics · anonymous | Session |
Our hosting provider (Vercel) may also set short-lived essential cookies for load balancing and security. These are required for the site to work and are not used to track you across sites.
5. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings. You can usually find these under "Privacy", "Security", or "Cookies" in your browser menu. Blocking all cookies may affect how the website works (e.g. you may need to log in again each time). For more information, see your browser’s help section or visit sites such as allaboutcookies.org.
You can also update your consent for OnSeason at any time using the preferences center below.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
7. Contact
